Benelux
A rooftop beer garden with a passport’s worth of Belgian brews and a brunch menu that makes Saturdays feel like holidays. Café Benelux is equal parts European café and Milwaukee hangout—big windows, industrial charm, and a patio view of the Third Ward that never gets old. The beer list reads like a novel, the frites are a must, and if you can snag a spot upstairs on a sunny day, you’ll understand why this place is always buzzing. It’s where we go when we want to pretend we’re abroad without leaving the city.

Lost Whale
Cocktails with a conscience—and a sense of humor. The Lost Whale team makes sustainability cool, mixing inventive drinks with rescued ingredients and wild creativity. The vibe is fun, not fussy, with a rotating menu that keeps us curious every time.

Honeypie
Sweet pies, savory pies, and a diner-style menu that hugs you like Sunday morning. Honey Pie is local comfort food turned into an art form. Come hungry, save room for dessert, and don’t be surprised if you start plotting a second visit before you’ve even left.

Barnacle Bud's
Unassuming, beloved waterfront gem that’s worth a chill or shenanigan-filled Saturday afternoon spent posted up on the patio by the river. You'll probably end up here on a rowdy Pedal Tavern outing.

Boone & Crockett
Location: Harbor District
Super groovy folks and even better cocktails. Fantastic view of the river and an outdoor space that will knock your socks off. Make sure to grab some Taco Moto or Dooby Dogs while you’re kicking back on the patio.

Centraal Grand Café & Tappery
This is our “meet me here” spot—Euro grand-café spirit, one of the city’s longest bars, and a brick courtyard that turns brunch into a mini vacation. The Tappery runs deep (75+ things on tap, from bier to coffee), and the menu is built to keep everyone happy—kids, veg, gluten-free, late-night snackers. Sit under the string lights and pretend you’re somewhere along a Dutch canal, then remember you’re in Bay View and smile.
